2nd Annual Golf Outing

October 11 at 1:00PM

Join us at our Second Annual Golf Outing benefitting the Bobby Kerr Memorial Scholarship, to be held at 1pm on Wednesday, October 11th at the Timber Point Golf Course.

The Bobby Kerr Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of the memory of Robert “Bobby” Kerr, long-time teacher and coach in the Middle Country School District. During his 33-year teaching career, he earned a dozen teacher of the year awards and numerous coaching awards, including the Suffolk County Boys Track and Field coach of the year in 2015. His dedication to coaching high school athletes continued even after his retirement from his career as a social studies teacher as he shared his track and field coaching expertise with the students at Rocky Point, Miller Place, and Ward Melville high schools, bringing Rocky Point and Ward Melville their first ever track titles.

The scholarship is received annually by a Newfield High School student athlete who has demonstrated the qualities that Bobby did for his entire teaching and coaching career. The athlete will have show himself/herself to be dedicated and hardworking, considerate of teammates, and one who appreciates the joy of sports’ comradery and competition. The aware is not earned on the basis of success or records, but rather, to reward effort and character.

Tickets are available for $175 per person.
